11 Dec Statement – Hamilton (A) Tickets
The FSS Committee, with the support of members feedback, wishes to express its disappointment at the away ticketing process deployed by Hamilton Academical Football Club (HAFC) for this week’s top of the table clash.
Last Saturday, with a weeks’ notice before the match, the Club, and consequently fans, were informed that HAFC would be issuing away fans with physical tickets only. As HAFC hold a platform to issue online ticket sales, and with this is being utilised for home fans this Saturday, the decision to only provide physical tickets to away fans is confusing. The FSS Committee agrees with comments from members and the wider fanbase, that this is entirely unnecessary, and creates a completely avoidable inconvenience to both fans and FFC staff at an already busy time of the year.
With one the highest ‘per head of population’ attendances in Europe, the greatest asset to the game in Scotland is the commitment (especially from fans of lower league clubs) to show up every single week and back their team.
We should be ensuring that all barriers which halt attendance are removed.
The FSS Committee calls on HAFC to reconsider its decision to only issue physical tickets, and instead provide all away fans with the accessibility of an online option and either the ability to purchase tickets at the ground or provide a ‘cash gate’.
To all Bairns, with 977 tickets sold already, let’s continue to bring a large, noisy support and back the team.
The FSS Committee.
