Falkirk Foodbank Collection – 19 April

14 April 2025

At Saturday’s big match against Raith Rovers, fans will have the opportunity to donate food or cash to the Falkirk Foodbank, a vital organisation serving the whole Falkirk District community. A huge thanks must go to FSS member, Jim Pringle, who having been inspired by the ‘Scottish Fans Supporting Foodbanks’ iniative, has put in a power of work to bring this idea to Falkirk FC. We know how important Falkirk Football Club is, but let’s show everyone once again the force for good football is and just how important our club is to the whole community.

On Saturday, there will be a Falkirk Food Bank van parked at the junction of the KM stand and the Main stand to accept food and toiletries. Inside the Stadium, where volunteers will be receiving cash donations, there will be two collection points situated at the top of the main staircases in the Main Stand, and two collection points will be situated at the front of the KM7 Stand just behind the pitch.

Falkirk Foodbank Manager, Harrison Crawford says:

“We were founded in 2012 by local churches who came together after seeing a sharp rise in food poverty. Since then, we’ve grown to become one of if not the largest foodbank in Scotland, with 80 volunteers helping over 8,000 people a year. We operate on a delivery-only basis, meaning we deliver food parcels directly to people’s homes after a referral is made from an agency like the NHS, social work, Citizens Advice, etc.

How people can get help?

We are not a walk in foodbank or pantry – we provide 7 days worth of food to those in crisis situations totally free and therefore the person/family needs to be referred by an agency who knows their circumstances. We work with hundreds of agencies across the district. If someone is in need, we encourage them to contact an organisation like Citizens Advice or social work, their GP, local church or school and ask for a referral, or they can contact us and we’ll guide them on who to speak to.

Where we cover?

Although we’re called Falkirk Foodbank, we don’t just serve the town of Falkirk. We cover the entire Falkirk Council district – this includes places like Grangemouth, Denny, Bonnybridge, Bo’ness, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Slamannan, Avonbridge, Maddiston, and more.

How people can help?

We always need long-life food and toiletries, people can:‌

  • Drop off items at the foodbank (Tamfourhill Industrial Estate, Falkirk FK1 4RT).‌‌
