Programme Notes: Livingston

8 October 2024

After a month away, home games have returned back to back as we welcome Livingston to the Falkirk Stadium under the lights. The two home games against Ayr United and Livingston allow us to challenge ourselves against the current best performers in the league.

In September 2023 we held a members meeting where it was agreed that we would explore options to allow the FSS to continue to contribute funds to the club, whilst retaining our ability to secure our shareholding in the event of a future share issue. In June 2024, the FSS committee presented a proposal of nil paid/part paid share option to the club which was accepted in principle. This proposal protects the FSS 25.1% shareholding voting rights after any future share issue and would prevent any shareholding dilution. The board have come back to the committee with a mechanism on how this will work within the articles of FFC and this is broadly acceptable to the FSS committee. We will look to share this with members for their views. However, if any FSS member has a background in company law who could assist with reviewing the proposal before circulation, your help would be much appreciated.

Following the success of our End of Season Party, the FSS committee is delighted to announce that we are hosting a Fundraiser Party Night on Friday 8 November 2024 at Camelon Social Club. Tickets are priced at £11.25 and can be booked via Skiddle. The night will feature music from Shoot the DJ and a classic raffle and auction to raise funds for the manager’s budget.

The FSS is also thrilled to announce the launch of our Youth Membership. This is a free membership, with an option to join FSS fundraising efforts, to allow our younger fans to become part of the fan ownership journey. You can sign up the Bairns HERE.

To all our FSS members who live or work overseas we would love to hear from you. We would like to spruce up our website with photos of a Bairns scarf or any other memorabilia at famous locations across the world. The FSS is the perfect home for international Bairns, and keeps you close to the Club, even when you are in a far away location.

As evident in this and our recent newsletter to members, this has been a busy time for the FSS committee. We are always looking for members with time and skills to help support and grow our organisation. We have co-opted positions available for those who would be able to commit time to assist with developing and running the organisation. We would also like to hear from those who would be keen to volunteer some time without joining the committee. If you would like to get involved, please contact us at admin@falkirksupporters.org or via our social media channels.

If you are not already a member of FSS, it would be great to have you on board for season 2024/25! Signing up is straightforward. The preferred method of payment is by Standing Order. Please ensure that your name is shown when setting up the Standing Order and at the same time email us at subscriptions@falkirksupporters.org with your full name, preferred email address, first payment date and donation amount. If you are a current member, and can afford it, then we would be very grateful if you would consider increasing your contributions.
