One of the questions the FSS board would like to ask members is……Why did you join the FSS?
We would appreciate if you could add a comment below to answer this question. Your comments may then be featured on our Social Media channels anonymously to promote the FSS as we enter into a campaign to attract new members.
Thanks for your continued support.

The main reason I joined was to assist with the vision the FSS has of fan ownership knowing additional money would go towards the first team squad and infrastructure
Quite simply, I wanted to back the Bairns. The model of fan ownership appeals to me, however it is then up to the fans to make it work. I joined to support the club, the board, the team and those giving up their own time to organise and promote the supporters society.
I joined the FSS as I firmly believe in fan ownership and additional funding raised from FSS is helping to improve the team and infrastructure – it’s good to know we’ve played our part the clubs recent successes!
I joined the FFS to help protect the long term future of the club. With the FSS having a good % in the club it means we can have a say in what happens with our club. I understand further investment is needed but at least if anyone comes in we will have a say in it.
As a long time supporter & season ticket holder I felt joining the FSS was both a valid & viable means to bring added value to the vision of fan ownership. I also felt that any additional revenue is essential to consolidate the investment others of greater means have committed in recent years.
I joined because I believe in what the club are trying to achieve & I think this season shows that we are certainly heading in the right direction
I joined to help the club stay in good hands and make sure we never go through what we went through or what other clubs have went through.
I believe that , in my small way, I am contributing to funds to assist fan ownership.
Is that a question or a statement? Joking aside, this was the final straw and strong fan ownership was the only option for me. The club was heading down the toilet so even the smallest gesture preferable to watching on in horror.
2 reasons, the first being the mess we were in hopefully with fan ownership will never happen again.
Secondly having been born and bred in Falkirk/Grangemouth and now living away I needed a connection I.E. to still feel a part of the club and I do travel and still attend home games.
I joined to help the club both financialy and to help the FSS have an increased influence in the way the club was being run.
I joined as I live far away and don’t get to many games. So putting my contribution towards the FSS and allowing supporter involvement of the running of our club seemed like the right thing to do.
I joined as a way of giving additional support to the club, to help become stronger and to add the managers budget.
After everything that happened with the club, I felt fan ownership was a must. Having a fan’s input into how things are run is essential now and hopefully it continues to be as successful as it currently is.
I currently live and work in Essex, so it is not possible for me to attend regular home matches, which means I am not putting money into FFC a regular basis. Being a member of the FSS allows me to give the club some financial assistance in the form of a direct debit.
In addition, I am grateful for the regular newsletter.
I am a long time supporter, and former season ticket holder, but moved away from Scotland 16 years ago. I still follow all our games, and attend occasionally when I can, but I hadn’t really been contributing to the club financially for a long time. The state the club was in when the FSS was set up made it impossible for me not to get involved and has allowed me to contribute and give a little back for all the great memories I’ve had watching the team through the years. I believe fan ownership has played a large part in turning the clubs fortunes around and I’m proud to have played a very small part in that. I would recommend contributing to the FSS to all fans, if you have the ability do do so. I hope to increase my contribution in the near future to help keep up the investment in players and the academy.
I was delighted to become a member of the FSS in order to make a contribution towards the ongoing development of a club that I have supported for nearly 70 years. My first match was a 3-3 draw against Third Lanark in April 1959 …………dedication or what !!
I want to help the bairns in whatever small way I can, we have had our ups and downs, but we must stick together and the FSS is a good place to start, get behind the bairns, as a pensioner if I can do it “What’s Stopping You”
I joined in order that the ordinary fan can have a meaningful input into how our club is run and to keep unscrupulous people from either owning/ investing and taking us down a path to oblivion.
Why did I join the Falkirk Supporters Society? I was born elswhere but raised and educated in Falkirk almost my entire life. Growing up I loved playing football, it was everything, inspired by our then hero’s of the Scottish game (although most were plying there trade south of the border for big English clubs) as they competed in successive World Cup competitions across the 70’s and 80’s.
I was first introduced to Falkirk FC by my uncle who took me along to Brockville late 70’s to watch the Bairns, I was just captivated and ever since I have been a supporter. Declaring this to my pals at the time I was in the minority as most of my friends growing up supported either Celtic or Rangers who dominated and continue to dominate the domestic league notwhithstanding the odd disrupter like Aberdeen who upset the apple cart of a bit.
I wanted that for Falkirk, to compete and be successful however the spending power of the Glasgow clubs with its large fan base is a tall order. Fast forward to the creation of the Falkirk Supporters Society(FSS), this afforded me an opportunity to contribute, not just financially but as a member to be represented at the board level and having our say as a fan owned club. The journey that Falkirk FC have been on over the last few years has been absolutely incredible and the FSS and its members have played at key part in that success. This is why I joined the Falkirk Supporters Society!
If you are a supporter or just someone who wants to see their town do well and continue this momentum I would encourage you to join the FSS today. COYB!
I don’t get to a lot of game’s as I work every other weekend so I seen this as my way of helping my club. I never thought that the FSS would be as successful as it has turned out. Everyone who has committed their time to FSS thank you as you’ve done a great job. C.O.Y.B.
I fully support fan ownership of the club. By joining with hundreds of like minded supporters hopefully even if a large shareholder comes on board the views of supporters will strongly influence the future direction of the club.
To safeguard the club from charlatan investors and to bring decision making closer to where it should be with the supporters and those that love the club .
I joined the FSS to help the club in any way that I possibly could. I hoped it would provide another way of trying to compete with the big boys with the extra bit of extra funding that is available. The club has had its ups and downs and hopefully with the creation of the FSS, we can only go from strength to strength and over the last 3 seasons that has certainly happened. COYB.
I joined the FFS and stood in the recent election because I wanted to fully support Falkirk FC. Fans are the heartbeat of this club and I wanted to help the Club succeed. Fan ownership means fans can have an real impact. Getting involved just made sense. COYB
I joined the FSS because I believe that fans are the only constant in a football club and deserve to have a say in how their club is operated. I wanted to be part of a community of supporters who also believe in fan ownership and funding and who want to work together to support our club.
Cant get to a lot of games now as health is not to good so this is a great way to contribute to the club we all love and followed since I was a young boy back at Brockville Park
I joined to help the club at our hour of need as we were on our knees. Also to protect us from speculative investors that could potentially ruin us and in the knowledge that my contributions would help strengthen us going forward.
I believe that all football clubs should be fan or community owned. Football clubs are at the heart of the community, offering much more than just a game of football. They can help create a sense of togetherness within the town. Fan ownerships is, in my view, the best way to ensure the security of Falkirk Football Club. If we collectively contribute to the funding of the club we can look after it for us all. The more of us that do so the more secure we will be.
I joined the FSS very early doors as I attended the meetings before the FSS where the idea of fan ownership was first muted and always thought it could work.
I knew the fortunes of the club had to turn around and having attended various meetings with previous boards and owners, I didn’t have faith in them being able to do that.
It is our club and the idea of having a say in how we are run and being able to contribute monthly is a no brainer for me. My wife is also now a member.
I would encourage any Bairns fan who is not already a member to join, if they can afford it.
I’ve supported Falkirk as long as I remember. I remember being lifted over the turnstiles at brockville back in the 80s.
With the above in mind I’ve seen very poor boards and I’m sure they have financially gained when the club has not.
The FSS vision is to ensure this never happens again.
Now I take my wife and 2 kids to as many games as we can manage home and away. (Season ticket holders)
I want this to continue for generations and I believe this future is secure providing the FSS members remain dedicated to this cause.
To help the club with additional funds, principally to assist with improving the quality of the first team. I am also keen to keep the club in the hands of the fans thus avoiding the need to rely on a rich benefactor who does not practice sound financial management and runs the risk of putting the club in jeopardy if the funding is pulled in future. Clubs in England e.g. Sheffield Wednesday are a prime example of an individual owner going badly wrong.
It felt like the best way to help the club be successful.
Quite simply I love the club and wanted to do my bit to support what the FSS stand for
I originally joined purely to provide more money into the club during hard times however quickly learned that the FSS is much more than that particularly around safeguarding the club and more and more on fan engagement and having our say and input to the Club.
Having supported Bairn For Life, switching my contribution to the FSS seemed a natural progression when BFL was wound up. At that time the concept of fan ownership was not uppermost in my mind – I just wanted to join the supporters organisation and make a small financial contribution to the club. However since joining I have learned more about the history of the club and recognise that fan ownership is the only way to go.
I wanted to be part of the fan ownership process as this approach will benefit the club for the foreseeable future I I’m fortunate enough to be able to contribute and support the FSS monthly which is a great investment in the club and assists in its development and growth going forward
Having been a Falkirk supporter for around 67 years, I saw many owners and boards come and go from fairly good to very bad. So when the club decided to go the way of fan ownership I decided that I although I had done my bit at very opportunity to give financially when the calls came, this was the way to give regularly to the wellbeing of the club structure over and above buying season tickets etc.
To go back to my opening sentence, fan ownership has shown the way forward in helping to help the club to progress.
I would also like to give plaudits to the people who set it up, who are now on the board and the numerous volunteers who help maintain the club, as they are as important as the coaching team, players etc who have given us success and hope over the past 4 years.
Went first time with my father to Brockville in 1954 and went as often as I could when growing up. Left Falkirk in late 1960s
but attended many games over the years when visiting friends and relatives. In more recent years has meant a journey of 450 miles each way ( spending a night in hotel if needed) so has meant much fewer attendances. However my contribution monthly to FSS is my way of continuing my support when I cannot attend in person.
In summary, Falkirk FC represents for me the soul of Scottish Football and the last three years have shown what can be achieved with the right leadership and fans support for the club. Long may it continue.
I was born in Falkirk and spent the first seventeen years of my life living in the area. Since then I have had thirteen different addresses living in different parts of the country. The one thing that has not changed and never will is my support for Falkirk Football Club and the memories of going to Brockville with my father.
Now, living in the Scottish Highlands, it is very difficult to get to any games over the course of a season. Being a member of the FFS allows me to feel that I am still able to contribute to the growth and development of the club whilst retaining an important personal connection.
Having been a supporter from the mid 70’s I’ve experienced every high and low associated with the club and when it was first suggested that fan ownership was being considered i Joined to help safeguard the club following the various previous club owners issues. playing a small part by being part of the FSS and paying a a small direct debit contribution every month is my way of helping the club move forward both on and off the park. what we have achieved together over the last couple of years has been absolutely the best time to follow the bairns.
I was born in the old hospital in Falkirk and grew up around 6 miles away. I have been a supporter since I was young and Saturdays in my teenage years were spent getting the 77 bus to Falkirk on a Saturday and heading to Brockville. Even though I now live in Luxembourg I keep in touch via FalkirkTV and the podcasts and wanted to do a little bit to help to safeguard the future of the club which, I believe is crucial for the town.
Still try to attend the odd game when back.
Simply wanted to support Falkirk fc . Season ticket and a bit extra help by joining FFS and supporting fan ownership, has to be a positive and good thing ,coyb!!
